Gulam Ali’s SAQI Lounge

Recently, Saregama launched Saqi Lounge, album by noted Khansaab Gulam Ali. The gazals of the album is remixed by Booby and Bhakta and it consist of 12 gazals.

The first gazal of the album is “Ayanna” it is an instrumental version. It is followed by “Zehel-E-Miskeen”. A lyric by Amir Khusro has added the exquisiteness to the gazal. The next gazal of the album is “Yamuna”, again an instrumental one. “Awaragi” is the next one. It is ‘off the edge mix’ and lyric is given by Moshin Naqvi. Next lined up gazal is “Neti Neti”-‘take off mix’ in an instrumental version. “Hungama” has ‘Cruising mix’ and ‘Landing mix’ and lyrics is given by Akbar Allahabadi. They are then followed by “Aye Na Balam” which is there in the album in traditional version. The next gazal is “Heer” and the lyric of the gazal is given by Waaris Shah. “Sufi” is an instrumental number and the last gazal in the album is “Dayam Pada Hua”, its lyric is given by veteran Mirza Galib.

Music composer Bobby feels obliged to accompany Khansaab Gulam Ali in a private mehfil in London at age of 13. And thereafter he became great admirer of this distinguished Gulam Ali Sahaab. And this album is outcome of the in-built respect he has for him. And the main purpose of this album is to grow popularity and liking of Gazals amongst youth generation. Therefore, these gazals are presented in humming remix versions.

This album is going to be indeed appreciated by all age-groups.
