Manoj Bajpai has commenced his second inning on a not-so-good note. His two movies have already fallen flat on the box office, and now he is keeping his fingers crossed for the multi-starrer Acid Factory. He gets candid in an interview, and talks about his next release.
Q. 1: So what’s happening in Acid Factory?
Ans. 1: It’s an action thriller that you have never seen before. It’s about few people who wake up in an acid factory having their memories lost. They all are bad people in the movie who try to impose self-ideas on each other.
Q. 2: Tell us about your character.
Ans. 2: I am playing Sultan in the movie. My character will give a kind of relief in the movie, and he is very entertaining. It is an unpredictable character, as you never know when and how he will react on any given situation.
Q. 3: What will audience carry home after watching this film?
Ans. 3: You don’t have to learn from every movie. We intend to entertain audience for the span two and a half hours that they spend watching the movie.
Q. 4: As this movie is an action thriller, any particular scene that you really found tough?
Ans. 4: In one of the scene I am suppose to drive a lorry and hit an array of cars. It was tough for me, as Fardeen was dangling at the back of the lorry. Hitting cars safely in one-go was a big challenge.
Q. 5: Why did you choose to do a multi-starrer movie at this stage of your career?
Ans. 5: In this movie everyone has a parallel role to play. There is no need to be insecure of an ensemble cast, as long as you play your part at your best.
Q. 6: This is your second movie with Sanjay Gupta.
Ans. 6: Yes, I did Dus Kahaniyaan with him earlier. He does not interrupt in our work, in fact he would arrange for the evening bash. He is very good at promoting his movies. I am glad that he trusted me for this role.
Q. 7: What do you have to say about the music of the movie?
Ans. 7: As the movie is very fast face, so the songs are in the background, otherwise film will stop there.
Q. 8: What are your expectations with this movie?
Ans. 8: I don’t expect anything now; if I like my films and I am proud of it I will promote it.
Q. 9: What next?
Ans. 9: I am doing Madhur Bhandarkar’s Jail and Rajniti. In Jail I am playing a prisoner. This film will reveal real scenario inside jails. And Rajniti as the name suggests is full of politics.
