After killing everyone’s pleasure in Malaysian jungle, our adorable trouble-baby- Kashmera is merrily back in the town. She is glad to break the showy happy jungle family, and shares her view on the jungle and its junglees with us.
Q. 1: Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is a love tale. Did you have any crushes when you were a teen?
Ans. 1: I had some best love stories as a teenager. I always had crushes on boys in senior classes but they never looked at me. I never had a boyfriend. It was not that I didn't want one.
Boys never noticed me. I left studies when I was 17 years old. I guess at that time I didn’t look as dating material for boys. So my teenage love life was a total disappointment.
Q. 2: Tell us something about your role in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
Ans. 2: I play Raj Kumkar Santoshi’s version of the damsel in distress. She is a little lost girl who doesn’t have any friends, who wants just to be loved. Ranbir’s character is completely opposite to her ideal man. It is not a glamorous role. I'm not wearing sexy dresses in the film. Jennie is very similar to what I was in school. She is very lonely, does not have many friends and is not popular.
Q. 3: What do you feel about love?
Ans. 3: One of the nicest things to occur to anyone in life is when they realize that their best friend is actually their true love. That is the soul of the film. Love and infatuation will only remain for few years. After a certain time, it loses its freshness and just becomes routine. Friendship will only sustain till the end. Nobody knows how to be happy in love, how to find a perfect partner and keep him/her. There is no right or wrong answer. Love is an uncontrollable emotion. Most of the time it is very 'ajab' rather than 'ghazab.' That's why I feel everyone has an Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
Q. 4: Tell something about Ranbir as a co-star?
Ans. 4: Ranbir is very talented and versatile. I saw Wake Up Sid and he is very competent and natural. He is incredibly funny as a person too.
Q. 5: How has your voyage been in Bollywood so far?
Ans. 5: I started my career as a model. I didn't have a dream launch that was tailor made for me. I did glamorous parts, songs and dance, and comedy films. With each movie, I earned the trust of the audience and the director. Then people said she can be responsible with a bigger role. I think my first female-dominated film was Namastey London.
Q. 6: It is true that you want to be a director one day?
Ans. 6: Yes, I want to be a co-director like Abbas-Mastan. But having said that, I would never give any advice to my directors. I am never vocal about direction. I would like to work as a co-director with Vishal Bhardwaj and Ayaan Mukherjee (Wake up Sid).
Q. 7: Why don't you do more movies with Salman?
Ans. 7: I don't think people want to see good friends together in romantic movies. Maybe that's my opinion after Yuvraaj. But if we do any movie, it should be extraordinary.
Q. 8: What are your forthcoming projects?
Ans. 8: De Dana Dhan and Rajneeti. I have also signed a two movie contract with UTV.
